about

Revelstoke Toronto, Ontario

Revelstoke is folk music played in an underwater city still trapped in the 40s using alien technology. Mini-symphonies built using a banjo, mandolin, violin bowed guitar with gentle poetic lyrics looped through a pedal. Abstract and dreamy.

Track Name: Colony Collapse Disorder
She stays awake a lot and talks about Jesus when she's sleeping.
I struggle with my tie – thinking of her in '89.
Before, they were born.
The markets rise and fall, like her chest when she's sleeping.
I'm talking to myself, cause the financial district's dying.
That's how I became a ghost.

Forget this. I'm done. This is just getting started.

And I'm growing out my hair, because I want to be a ghost.

Let the markets fall, forget my children's name. Because I want to be a ghost.
Track Name: San Sebastian
Round these parts the coast it gets so cold
it rolls back and forth across your toes.
We climb up the cliffside with our long boards
The afternoon swells drift past our clothes.

When I get older, gonna go where the summer ends.

Above the seaside we smoke spanish pot
our laughter dances on for miles.
With tiny hands and tiny feet,
sweet surfer girl my knees are weak.

When I get older, gonna go where the summer ends.

I know that I should just keep my mouth shut
but this Spanish Cava's gotten me drunk
When the Atlantic sleeps on my windowsill
and our surfboards wait in the grove I will.

When I get older, gonna go where the summer ends.
Track Name: Dans La Mer (Howl for Sade)
We built tiny cities where the ground was to harsh to grow
and oh god how you'd laugh when we'd bury ourselves in the sandy snow
dressed our hearts in sunday's best for church but we forgot to go
my-oh-my how I wish you'd have danced for the ship that I stole.

When survival sickness sets in we will run naked through the grange
from the island where we sing our skyline's teeth are chattering
I was the blood in your shallow veins before the trees learned your name
and it falls into you like a spring that's so tired of having to change.

So go on kiddo, get yourself free
we'll act like the seahorse wanted it this way
and when they ask, we'll sharpen our teeth
and act like we still give a shit

I can only howl for so long.
Track Name: It's Flawed Because It's True
Snowflakes of modern life fall around me
mum jeans and corduroy, stitches kissing
such tiny hands to sew the weight down
the days remains hindered by chivalry.

And if I sit here, a little longer. Just long enough to watch them tear the statues down.

The clock bell's sad song is singing
just like the Koreas relationship with Americans
we get so caught up in saying the right thing
the bridge is just built but the temples still burning.

And if I sit here, a little longer. Just long enough to watch them tear the statues down.

I'm heading home to see my younger brother
he's growing out his beard for the winter
it gets more flawed, the truer that it is.

And if I sit here, a little longer. Just long enough to watch them tear the statues down.
